How to download videos on the Lg Rumor / Scoop AX260, UX260

You need a sd micro card - I got a 2gb card on ebay for about $12.

1. Go to youtube and play the video you would like to download. Make sure the quality of the video and of the audio is good.
2. Copy the video URL from the address bar of your browser (select the entire url and press CTRL/C).

3. Go to http://keepvid.com/
4. In the URL text box paste (click text box and press CTRL/V) the youtube url you copied on step 2. and click the download button.
5. Right-click the "download link" (video.mp4 - High Quality) and choose 'Save Target As...' to download the video to your PC.

6. The 'Save As' dialog box will appear. Select a location where to save the file. Then change File Name (keep the .mp4 extension) and press the Save button. The video is now on your computer.

NOW YOU NEED TO CONVERT the downloaded video from mp4 format to 3g2 phone format.

7. DOWNLOAD the "Freez 3GP Video Converter" program.
It is FREEWARE and easy to use. The file is called "freez_3gpconverter.exe".
Here the link

8. Install "freez_3gpconverter.exe" on your local PC and run it.
9. Click the "add" button and select the video or videos you downloaded on step 6.
10. Change format to "3GPP2".
11. Make sure video Resolution is 176X144 and Video Quality is set to "5".
12. Click the "Convert now button (see picture below).
- By default the converted file/s will be saved in the 'Freez 3GP Video
Converter' sub-folder called '3gpOutput'
e.g. C:\Freez 3GP Video Converter\3gpOutput.

13. Open the 3gpOutput folder and copy all videos.
14. Plug your sd card into your PC. Open the sd card folder and paste all video files in the VIDEO folder.
15. Remove the sd card from your PC. Plug the sd card into your phone and enjoy the videos.

How to load ringtones AX260

You need to get a USB cable for the phone (OEM LG SGDY0010901 USB Cable Rumor Sprint/Alltel Scoop UX260 AX260) – check on ebay.
Download and install the LG Driver.
Download the newest version of BitPim (1.0.6).
On your phone set PC Connection to USB MODEM.
Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable.
Run BitPim.
Let it find the phone(it will come up as other CDMA phone)

Click FILESYSTEM on the left at the bottom (If you don't see it then click the View\View FileSystem menu).
Double click Filesystem folder.
Double click Dload folder.
Right click lg_mysound.dat and save it to a local PC folder e.g. c:\Temp.
After you save it right click lg_mysound.dat and delete it (if you have problems deleting it then click on the Find Phone icon and try again).

Open the brew folder.
Open the media folder.
Open the lk folder.
Open the ms folder.
Now drop the songs you want to use as ringers in the ms folder (they will automatically load into your phone. It is not the fastest process but it works).
When done loading, unhook USB cable from computer, power the phone off and then back on.

The songs you just transferred will now be in the my audio file where they need to be to be assigned as individual ringers.

NOTE:
Everytime you whant to add new ringers to the phone you have to complete all the steps above, even the deleting of the lg_mysound.dat file.

Good Luck, Marco
